Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Country Store Kit - 933-3491

Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Country Store Kit 933-3491 gives modelers a combination convenience store and gas station for developing roadside business districts, small-town communities, and rural highway scenes on an HO scale layout. Based on the convenience stores and fuel stations found throughout North America, this structure represents a familiar destination where motorists can purchase gasoline, snacks, and everyday supplies. The Country Store is suitable for layouts depicting the late 1960s through the present day, making it a versatile addition to suburban, urban, and countryside settings.

This HO scale plastic structure kit features a main store building with a distinctive curved pitched roof, a separate gas pump island with canopy, two gas pumps, and full-color printed signs. Parts are molded in three colors and clear plastic. The completed main building measures 6 x 3-5/8 x 2-3/4 inches (15.2 x 9.2 x 6.9 cm), while the gas pump island measures 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 x 2-3/8 inches (6.3 x 6.3 x 6 cm). Build an HO Scale Country Store and Gas Station Scene

The Country Store provides a recognizable centerpiece for a roadside commercial property. Position the building near a highway intersection, along a small-town main road, or within a suburban shopping district to represent a business serving local residents and passing motorists. The separate gas pump island and canopy help establish the station's fueling operations, while the printed signs provide options for completing the storefront and surrounding property.

Combining several commercial structures can help modelers develop a recognizable roadside business district with multiple destinations for vehicle traffic.

Develop a Rural Highway or Suburban Commercial District

A combination convenience store and gas station can fit into many different modeled communities. In a rural setting, the Country Store can represent a highway stop serving travelers and nearby residents. In a suburban neighborhood, it can become part of a commercial area surrounded by houses, restaurants, and automotive service businesses.
